BARBARA HOCHSTETLER

Barbara graduated with a BA in fine art from California State University, Sacramento. She pursued an MFA in interior design and painting at Colorado State University. This juncture between art and design was foundational to her career.

Barbara remained in Colorado where her role as Interior Design Director of large civic buildings spanned the globe. Her work has been featured on Fox News, in LUXE Magazine, and innumerable architectural publications and books. She has lectured at the Denver Art Museum, Colorado State University, the Interior Design Institute and the American Society of Interior Design. She is the winner of many prestigious awards for her work on projects such as; the Colorado Convention Center, Denver International Airport, Inchon International Airport Passenger Terminal in Seoul Korea, Palm Springs Convention Center, and the National Museum of Wildlife Art in Jackson Hole.

Barbara’s art has been included in one?woman, invitational shows, and integrated into her interior design projects. Her work is in private collections internationally.
Growing up on a farm nestled in the lush green rolling hills of southeastern Iowa was where Barbara spent her youth. The Amish Mennonite community and a one-room country school she attended provided a stark contrast to the evolution of modern industry and lifestyles. The structure of quilts and agricultural patterns along with philosophical ideas permeated her youth.

Currently Barbara lives and works in Miami Beach, Florida.
